Doris M. Bath Window
30/06/13 11:49
The master bath window featured here is a piece commissioned by the clients to provide a space of privacy and tranquility. The client specified that they wanted a peaceful, natural scene featuring lots of color and glass with obscuring qualities.
Sketches drawn to scale were designed and presented for choice and possible revisions. Once the design was determined, the clients were shown many glass samples from which to choose.
The full scale design was then laid out and prepared as a pattern from which the glass would be cut and laid out. Each individual piece of glass was then formed together with the lead came. After carefully fitting the glass and lead together, the lead joints were then soldered together, and lastly, the panel was cemented to complete the fabrication process.
The clients were more than pleased with the end product and expressed their appreciation for the art and talent taking the ideas from their minds’ eyes to fruition.
They had this to say…
"This window brings us joy with the light of each new day. We can't believe this colorful work of art is a part of our lives. Linda was a creative genius at every window phase creating the precise design, obtaining the most striking specimens of glass and building the scene to aesthetic perfection. Linda is a pleasure to work with and a delight to know. We are honored to have an original work of her brilliant labors!" -Doris M.
